uniformly
excellent. Lavid’s treatment of sensitive subjects
as well as
lighter takes demonstrates her range.”

About the book:
Rented Rooms, a
collection of previously published short fiction, is more than the sum of its parts.
In this small but hearty book, Linda Lavid offers an entertaining ensemble of
contemporary stories of wide appeal. Misguided love, tales of mystery and
characters who cross the line are compiled in one volume that include author
notes at the end of each story. Like directorial comments in a DVD, Ms. Lavid
welcomes the reader behind the story and discusses points of craft and
inspiration. Whether for entertainment or instructional purposes, Rented Rooms
illustrates how fiction is constructed and construed from the world around us.
About the
author:
Linda A. Lavid is from Buffalo, NY. Her latest book is Paloma, a novel of romantic suspense. “Rented Rooms” is used in entry level college writing courses. Ms. Lavid’s dream is to corner the vacation market and write stories people reach for when driving to Virginia Beach or flying to Vegas. She is working on another collection of short fiction, “Thirst.”
